Cultured Meat Development Service

Cultured Meat Development Service

Cultured meat refers to meat obtained without using farmed animals and is a type of protein product with a texture similar to that of animal muscle, produced by cell culture and other methods. Aprofood provides cultured meat development and optimization services to accelerate the development of our customers' cultured meat projects for a wider range of applications in the food industry.

Characteristics of Cultured Meat

In order to make cultured meat closer to the meat we consume in our daily lives, several aspects need to be taken into consideration.

  • Nutrition
Vitamins, minerals and bioactive compounds can be added to the cultured meat to produce specific functionalities.
  • Color
The muscle tissue of cultured meat is usually light in color due to the absence of myoglobin, but cultured meat can use plant-based colorants instead of muscle hemoglobin.
  • Flavor
Cultured meat has the flavor of meat itself, but artificial flavor compounds are often added to processed products as well.

Our Service

The development of cultured meat requires not only a good nutritional profile, but also a high standard of nutritional value. Aprofood promotes the development and optimization of cultured meat through the use of a variety of biotechnology to advance meat.

Muscle Stem Cells for Cultured Meat Development

Muscle stem cell culture meat development involves the collection, culture and differentiation of muscle stem cells. The structure and texture of the muscle cells can be altered by adjusting the culture conditions and cell tissue engineering techniques to give the cultured meat products characteristics that are closer to those of conventional meat.

Mesenchymal Stem Cells for Cultured Meat Development

During in vitro culture, mesenchymal stem cells are induced to be able to differentiate into cells of mesodermal origin such as chondrocytes, myoblasts and adipocytes, making them a high-quality cell culture meat cell. In our development process, we differentiate them into the cell types we need by certain induction for better use in cultured meat research.

Optimization Service of Cultured meat Development

In order to move cultured meat from the laboratory to large-scale production, Aprofood optimizes the high-capacity equipment and medium to reduce cost and increase yield, and optimizes the raw material formulation to improve the textural quality and taste of the cultured meat by combining with 3D printing, nanotechnology, and genetic engineering technology. The specific optimization routes are divided into the following parts.

Optimization service of cell line

We explore types of cell lines, evaluate their proliferation and differentiation ability, and select cell lines with better characteristics.

Optimization service of culture technology

We select 3D culture technology for the development of cultured meat to provide texture and texture of cultured meat.

Optimization service of culture environment

Optimization of bioreactor design and operating parameters to improve cell growth and yield of cultured meat.

Process for Our Cultured Meat Development Service

Selection of Cells Selection

According to the requirements, a suitable source of cultured meat cells is selected. The screened cells are then extracted following aseptic techniques.

Cell Culture

The extracted cells are placed in a suitable culture medium and provided with the required nutrients and environment to promote cell growth and proliferation.

Tissue Engineering

When the cells proliferate to a certain number, tissue engineering is carried out to form muscle tissue.

Growth of Cultured Meat

During the tissue process, give the cultured meat enough nutrients, environment to promote the growth and development of muscle cells.

Cultured Meat Acquisition

Once the cultured meat reaches the desired maturity level, it can be harvested to obtain the final product.
